It’s been long overdue… but as they say …. never too late. I present to you my first blog. Hope you enjoy reading it.

Weekends are made to spend time with your
loved ones. And those loved ones could be yourself, because you are your first
love, ain’t that right? Last weekend was one of those days.I needed to spend some quiet time away from
all the hustle and bustle of the city traffic and Gostana seemed perfect.

It is
a small café tucked away behind
‘Den’ in Bandra next to “Elbo Room”. I was greeted by “Shizu” the resident canine.
Yes, it is a pet friendly café;
helping me realise my complacency when selecting places to eat. I am extremely
terrified of dogs and the very sight of one awaiting me rooted me to the spot. I,
somehow, managed to set foot inside with a pair of innocent eyes gazing at me.
The rest of the evening had me pretty much occupied on tracking the whereabouts
of Shizu.

Gostana is a homely café with a warm décor, walls adorned with pinup
posters of iconic music legends and colourful lighting to add to the cosy ambience.
A small corner of the café is adorned with a bunch of novels and comics by the window.

I opted for a rejuvenating cup of
green tea accompanied by a Hummus sandwich. My choice of sandwich was forced by my
inquisitiveness to view Hummus in a form other than the traditional salad. The sandwich
was prepared with garlic flavoured hummus and cold sauce spread over brown
bread. My initial excitement dried out as I got towards the last couple of
slices.

Next up, was the popular “Signature Lamb Burger”  (a jumbo version of Kheema pav) based purely on the raving reviews I read on the food apps. It certainly was as
good as they said.
They also serve Chicken nuggets, Salads, quick
bites and much more which I leave for another time.

Overall it was a good experience with
the exception of my love for Shizu  ; )
