Sunday is Binge eating day, eat until you drop is what I like to do on a lazy Sunday. And on this lazy Sunday, I was reeled into one of the most exquisite places to brunch in Mumbai – JW Marriot Mumbai Sahar
JW café is known for its sprawling spread of global culinary delicacies. From an array of Continental, Japanese, Italian, Thai and Indian cuisines to choose from, the dilemma from where to start lies with you. The weekends are crazy here and a reservation beforehand is a must.
The best part about the buffet is that you get to try a little of everything. Artisan bread to a variety of cheeses, Salads to sushi, cold cuts to Kebabs, Dimsums to Tempuras, be prepared for an avalanche of delicious food.
What made this brunch special was the new ongoing festival “Fables of Lucknow”, a food fest showcasing the delicacies flying out from the Lucknowi kitchen. These include authentic Awadhi classics that date back to the 17th century.
From the live counters of Kakori Kebab, Lamb, and Kumbh Galouti Kebabs, Tawa Kheema and Subz (Veggies) the Executive Chefs were geared up to present the royal cuisine from the ‘City of Nawabs’ to ‘Aamchi Mumbai’.

Lucknowi Kheema served with Roomali Roti was a pleasant change to try. Not too fiery, every mouthful was sheer joy.Galouti kebab was soft and rich in taste with undertones of ground spices that went well with sheermal (sweeten flat bread).
We were just getting started. The following round was an Asian spread. While the sushi were rolled to perfection and made fresh, the Pasta left us disappointed as it wasn’t very saucy and lacked seasoning.

The Chaat counters were swarming with hungry patrons. Some of the options served were Dahi Bhalla, Sev Puri, Bhajjiyas, and not to forget Pani Puri, my pick of the table.
The best part about a buffet brunch is unlimited refills of plates even after multiple servings. It does, however, lead me to think, “Does walking around with two plates full of food from the counter to my table count as Cardio?” Cause I did take a few rounds, lol.
I was saving an elephant-sized space for desserts as the desserts here are not a cake walk.
JW Café’s desserts scene rivals the best in Mumbai. They offer an endless array of sugary treats to sweeten the deal. They do take their brunch very seriously around here.

Freshly baked cheesecakes, cute looking cupcakes, a donuts wall and bowls of macarons to bowl you over. And if these are not tempting enough, beautifully crafted desserts, fresh fruit cakes, and tea cakes lie in waiting.

The desserts just do not seem to end. They have live counters for Crepes, Waffles, and Ice-Creams. Different flavor ice-creams to pick from, and heaps of toppings of sprinkles, jelly bits, candies, chocolate chips and the list goes on.
On my earlier visit, the Waffles were an utter disappointment as they were too soft and went soggy in no time.
This time around it was better and upon request, they were made crispy just as I prefer. I relished this extravagant Dessert spread as I sipped on a warm cup of coffee.
In all honesty, I would suggest they should have more drink options in the brunch. Iced Teas and Lemon Mojito are the only options now. Some freshly squeezed/ pressed juice wouldn’t do any harm.
Overall, it has been a fun Sunday brunch and I cannot ever get tired of coming back here.
Do try out their Fables of Lucknow Festival before it ends on 20th Sept’17
