Intertwined along the noisy, over packed shopping lanes of Linking Road, Mumbai –one tiny lane leads to this dramatically lit pub adorned with vintage wooden decors; OneStreetOver. The dimly lit place is reminiscent of a gambling den portrayed in Bollywood films, though there’s nothing illicit going on here.
OneStreetOver is the creation of Chef Kelvin Cheung, who has been in the news often for dishing out delectable treats at Ellipsis, Colaba. And abetting him is another famed culinary personality, Chef de Cuisine Boo Kwang Kim.
On a weekday evening, My friend Rishabh (Grubzon) and I visited OSO which proudly falls in the same league as GastroPub flashing its illuminated bar, addictive cocktails& on-the-point menu.

Chef Kelvin Cheung leaves no stone unturned to ensure his Ellipsis fans do not miss his signature Fried Chicken Waffles

And trust me, we couldn’t stop going gaga after tasting those delicious flavors of honey & maple drizzled waffles as the crunchiness of Chicken sang in our palate for a repeat.
What do you call a dish with Potato, Mac and cheese, chives and sour cream?
Holy Cheesy Goodness!
Potato skin with Mac & cheese zooms into the must try list at OSO; a”dare you do not miss” dish.
While Kung Pao Broccoli was a savory affair with its intense flavors of chilies, hoisin sauce, and peanuts bits, the Truffle fries was crunchy with a bold kick of truffle oil, shaved parmesan & scallions.
After an impressive line-up of soul satisfying eats the clock winds down to the most awaited hour of the evening, dessert time. The dessert recommendations were left in the capable hands of our celebrity chef.
Gluten-free dark chocolate bar with quinoa puffs praline and sprinkled with sea salt was one hell of a chocolaty creation. Created for chocolate lovers with an eye on the weighing scales, this delicious delight is a superstar.
The next & final treat on offer was a work of art prepared to provide a brain-tingling sugar rush sensation.

Vanilla Man Bun: Sweet Bun slathered with cream, condensed milk, vanilla ice-cream & colored cereals. One bite is enough to send anyone into a sugar induced coma.

Overall, it was a fine experience one can indulge in. The ambiance is subtle and the staff is always on hand but not intrusive. The chef’s knowledge of extracting finely balanced flavors with minimal ingredients into gastronomic dishes is excellent.

Happy Faces and Tummy 🙂
It was lovely meeting Chef Kevin and sharing some fun insights on his journey from Ellipsis to OSO.
Grubzon and I were welcomed to OSO as a guest, however, my opinion is as always, my own!

Until then,
