Stay Review – TSG Aura, Neil Island
As I mentioned in my previous blog post Neil island is a tiny island which has a handful of stay options, with hefty tariff costs. Here’s a brief review of my stay at TSG Aura in Neil Island. Located opposite Sitapur beach, Aura is a part of TSG hospitality group. The location of the resort is ideal since it is located just 50 mts from the beach. A small winding lane opposite the resort leads to a downward spiral staircase that opens onto the beach.
The villas oversee a garden with a serene statue of Buddha in the middle and a view of the beach in the distance. The rooms are made completely of wood. A long flight of wooden stairs leads to the rooms on the upper level of the villas. The rooms have a high ceiling, dim lights, a lounge chair and a queen size wooden bed with old school canopies; the bed was a bit squeaky though yet comfortable. Long drapes adorned the door & windows that opened into the balcony overseeing the garden and the tall trees that border the beach. The rooms were well equipped with basic amenities and offer a cozy ambience with relaxed vibes.
The resort offers complimentary breakfast and accepts lunch & dinner orders accordingly. The breakfast included Veg items like Idli, dosa, Bread toast, poha and puri bhaji. The staff was courteous and helpful. They even lugged our heavy luggage up the steep flight of stairs and to our room.
We were greeted by a torrential downpour the following day but still managed to make our way to the beach. The view of the beach, especially during the monsoons was unreal. The sky had all shades of itself, just like an artist holding a palette.
Back at the resort, the breezy winds orchestrated a symphony of the rains as it lashed on the roofs and walls of the villas. The surroundings of the resort were drenched and the green vegetation highlighted the dark coloured villas.
Staying at TSG Aura is perfect if you love sunrises. Wake up, hop, skip and jump to the beach to witness the beautiful sunrise that all the travel articles have been talking about. Though we missed the first rays of the sun due to bad weather, we still loved the beach which we had all to ourselves. In a nutshell, our stay at TSG Hotels was a comfortable one. Recommended for honeymooners and families alike. It is advisable to confirm room reservations beforehand due to connectivity issues.
Until then,
