Staycation in Mahabaleshwar at Brightland Resorts & Spa:

I love my Staycation to be simple yet relaxing. What’s better than lounging in the pool, relaxing with a rejuvenating spa and enjoying a sundowner with enchanting views of the mountain ranges sounds? Brightland Resort & Spa was a perfect choice to spend some family time in Mahabaleshwar.

A 6-hour drive from Mumbai, Brightland Resort and Spa is located on the rolling hills of Mahabaleshwar. Its strategic location, away from the honking city, in the midst of the mountains creates a peaceful atmosphere interrupted only by the sound of the windchimes. A few weeks ago, I spent a lengthy weekend at BRS and thoroughly enjoyed my time in the pleasant Mahabaleshwar weather.

Brightland Resort and Spa, Mahabaleshwar:

BRS is a luxury resort spread over 6.5 acres perched on the hilltop at Kates Point Road surrounded by lush greenery and sweeping views of Sahayadri Range.  A short drive away from the city center and closer to Kates point, BRS is perfect for a luxury getaway.

Apart from a beautiful pool by the lounge & a Jacuzzi, it also houses a garden store, a common room for indoor games and a reading room with ample reading material. BRS also organises a host of fun activities including walking tours, housie and karaoke nights.

Rooms at Brightland Resort:

We checked into the Lavender Wing of Brightland Resorts which houses spacious rooms equipped with all modern amenities including a couch to create that extra living room feel and a view overlooking the Mountains. The size of the rooms vary and are luxuriously large, perfect for couples and families alike.

After spending much of my time with my family at the resort, this place felt like a tranquil oasis. It was a welcome break post a lengthy solo trip.

Food at Brightland Resort:

Food plays an important role on choosing where to spend your vacation. We were in for a treat at Brightland Resort which houses not one but 3 different restaurants.

Our mornings would begin by indulging in a Lavish breakfast spread at Olive Garden. Olive Garden is an all-day restaurant serving the best multi cuisines; Indian, Italian and Continental. Breakfast is part of the complimentary breakfast depending on the room and stay package selected.

The options in the morning are endless: freshly baked goodies like croissants & Danish pastry to multigrain breads, choice of eggs, fluffy pancakes and gooey waffles with a side of jams and preserve, Fresh juices, cut fruits & chicken sausages. That’s not all, they also serve Indian breakfast for the people Desi at heart: Poha, Chole Bhature, Idli wadas and more.

Apart from the extravagant breakfast choices, the lunch menu is packed with some scrumptious picks. Saucy Pastas, brick-oven pizzas and succulent Chicken Steak are some of the delicacies you shouldn’t miss here. They also serve a delicious Indian fare, Murgh Handi. This hit all the right flavors served with the fluffiest bread assortment, a wholesome food experience.

We spent our evenings at Over The Edge lounge by the Pool & raise a toast or two while soaking in the enchanting valley views from their indoor seating area.

By evening the grills are fired up and an intense aroma of barbecued chicken fills the air. Angaare, the al fresco barbeque restaurant overseeing the pool and lounge deck played host while we succumbed to the juiciest of kebab preparations. The surroundings are well illuminated by the pretty fairy lights and the starry eyed nights added to the ultimate dining experience.

Prana Spa:

Any staycation is incomplete without a relaxing spa. Brightland has all the ingredients for a refreshing getaway and Prana Spa is one of them. One of the oldest and most renowned Spas in India is helmed by Escenza Spa. Complete with a sauna, a steam room and an elaborate spa menu, Escenza Spa offers a wide selection of spa and massages ranging from hot stone massages, body scrubs & Swedish massages. You can also opt for express facial or foot massage if you are running short on time.

I pampered myself with an hour long, tip to toe Swedish massage, that included cleaning of negative vibes and inhaling positivity with the aroma of essential oils. A head massage and body massage followed by rain shower left me feeling relaxed and glowing.

The spa rooms are cozy and utterly comforting. The place is dimly lit and the air is filled with a pleasing aroma. The soothing music helped calm the nerves while I sank in a state of tranquillity and relaxation.

The spa shop offers a wide selection of bath and beauty products.

Things to do in Mahabaleshwar:

Mahabaleshwar is one of the more tranquil places to escape the city life. A hot spot on the tourist route around Maharashtra, the resort is just minutes away from the popular viewpoints like Kates Point & Echo Point. Beware of the red bottomed hooligans at the viewpoints who snatched away our bags and my niece’s milk bottle.

Places to see in Mahabaleshwar

The main market and Venna Lake are just 10 mins away from the resort.

While you’re in Mahabaleshwar, ensure to visit Mapro Garden for everything strawberry; Strawberry and Cream, squash, jams and even Strawberry Selfie points.
