2017 as a year may not have been well travelled but all those travel starved months were nourished by one simple word “Udaipur”. The city had been recommended as a weekend destination but this laid-back soul decided to explore at a snail’s pace. I spent a good part of nearly a week living in the city of lakes and I still feel famished. Udaipur is beyond the pin up Lake Pichola, the famed City Palace & the bustling city centre. The city boasts of other picturesque but lesser visited lakes and vantage points. Udaipur is not a touch and go destination, instead its best to spend a few days and just soak in the beautiful surroundings.
After spending a few days within the old city near the Ghats, I was looking for a place in a quieter surrounding away from the lively marketplace. Treebo Brahma Niwas – By The Lake overlooking the serene Swaroop Sagar Lake seemed ideal.
About Treebo Hotels: Treebo hotels are a line of top rated budget hotels in over 65 cities in India that assure comfort at an affordable price. Treebo Brahma Niwas by the lake offers a beautiful view of the scenic and lesser known Swaroop Sagar Lake and its location in the noiseless locality was an advantage.
Rooms: The rooms at Treebo Brahma Niwas are spacious and was outfitted with a king size bed, fresh white linen with a pop of color cushions and curtains and a sitting room. A joint balcony had a relaxed seating with a view of the lake while we sipped on some freshly brewed coffee.
Service and Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, modern amenities, complimentary breakfast, an unlimited coffee supply ensures a smooth and comfortable stay in their hotels. We even had the luxury of breakfast in bed; simply since we didn’t want to get out of bed.
The breakfast is generally served on their rooftop restaurant and the view of the blue sky reflecting in the lake on a sunny day is just so immaculate.
Things to do around: It was quite convenient to explore the other side of Udaipur from TBN. Fateh Sagar Lake and the Maharana Pratap Smarak Samiti were just a few minutes’ drive from the hotel. The enthralling view of Fateh Sagar Lake surrounded by mountains is reminiscent of the northern mountains. Boating at the lake offers a 360-degree view of the lake and Nehru garden built within the waters.
The viewpoint atop the Maharana Pratap Smarak Samiti offers a beautiful view.
Experience: The rooms were comfy; the breakfast was delightful and the ever-courteous staff is ever helpful. Overall, Treebo Brahma Niwas is a good family hotel and the hotel chain is reliable to book when planning your next trip.
PS: Avail exciting discounts if booked online directly from their website.

Oh my life, this place is so beautiful! India has been at the top of my bucket list for so long and I’m desperate to go there. Of my two oldest friends, one is as keen as me and the other needs some convincing… maybe I should show her this post! Thanks for sharing.

The vistas from your room were breathtaking! My friend visited Udaipur with his family and said it was one of the most peaceful and beautiful cities he had travelled to in India. The lakes at the foot of the mountains are something else and you captured it beautifully.
It looks like a wonderful place to stay. I can see why you decided to stay for nearly a week!
