The Most Instagrammable Place of Udaipur -City Palace!
Let’s admit, in the world of Instagram, we all live for those perfect travel photos, if not all then most of us. If you love taking photos while travelling, Rajasthan is a treasure trove. Filled with history, culture and colors, it also boasts of some of the most picturesque spots which are Instagrammable, say yay! With so many scenic spots around every nook and corner, I am sharing some of my favorite spots from the most Instagrammable place in Udaipur – City Palace.
Udaipur, rightly known as the Venice of the east, is one of the most romantic cities in India. Charming town washed White, beautiful hotels floating on the banks of lake Pichola with an envious view for dining and every nook screaming of culture and so much history to tell, people with warmest smiles and all that delicious Rajasthani food. What’s not to love?
No trip to Udaipur is complete without a visit to the marvellous City Palace. City Palace is one of the largest Palace complexes in all of Rajasthan. It was built by Maharana Udai Singh II in the year 1559 and his successors there after over a period of 400 years. Despite being built by different kings of across different eras, it holds the uniformity in its architecture and design and it is just too pretty? Don’t believe me, have a look at these pictures!
City Palace is a city in itself. With larger than life grandeur facades, intricate detailed archways, museums filled with history, jaw dropping and striking colored gorgeous rooms, labyrinth corridors, ornate courtyards and windows giving a panoramic view of the city, every spot in the City Palace is awe-inspiring and the most Instagrammable place of Udaipur!
one of the most awe-inspiring courtyards I have ever laid eyes on
The Queen’s chamber or Zenana Mahal: aka The Blue Room is the most photographed and Instagram featured room of the Palace. Recently restored, the area is beautifully maintained. Tourists are not allowed beyond a certain point here and hence this room makes for a clean photo. That blue, though, is just mesmerizing.
Badi Chitrashali Chowk: The blue Chinese tiles on the walls, striking colored glass windows, and wall murals make Badi Chitrashali Chowk a photogenic spot, and with good reason. The windows offer a splendid view of Lake Pichola and its island palaces. This area is often crowded as people gather to enjoy the view of the entire city from these windows.
Kanch ki Burj: The entire chamber from the walls to the dome and the ceiling are carpeted in red and gold mirror work. This magnificent chamber is captivating and sure to take your breath away.
Quick tips while visiting City Palace:
- The best time of the day to visit City Palace is early during the opening hours to avoid the throngs of tourists.
- Starting early ensures your pics are not photobombed often.
- It takes nearly 4 hours to see every aspect of this beautiful palace.
- Colorful clothes and comfortable shoes are recommended
Share your photos if you have clicked at one of these Instagrammable place from any of the above!
Happy Snapping! Happy Travelling!
Until then,
